Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how JurisDeed, Inc. (“JurisDeed,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit this website, use the plan builder, or sign up for or use LienGuard, our subscription software for Louisiana tax-lien investors. By using this site or LienGuard, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy covers information processed by JurisDeed in connection with this marketing website, the LienGuard plan builder, and the LienGuard subscription service (Core, Pro, and Enterprise tiers). It does not cover third-party websites or services that may be linked from here, which have their own privacy practices.

JurisDeed has operated since 2003 and is based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our contact details are at the end of this policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information described below. We do not buy or scrape personal information from third parties to build profiles.

a. Information you give us through the plan builder

When you configure a plan and submit an inquiry, the form collects:

  • Full name
  • Work email address
  • Company name
  • Title / role
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Your plan selections (chosen tier, credits, and any notes you add)

b. Analytics and usage data

When you browse the site, we may collect usage and device information automatically through our product-analytics tool (PostHog) — for example, pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and referring page. This may include session capture (a recording or reconstruction of how pages were used during a visit). See Cookies & analytics for details and how to opt out.

c. Payment information (coming soon)

Self-serve checkout via Stripe is being prepared and is not yet live. When it launches, payment will be processed by Stripe (supporting card and ACH bank payments). Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly. JurisDeed does not store full card numbers or full bank-account numbers. We may receive limited billing confirmation data from Stripe, such as your name, billing email, the last four digits of a card, the payment brand, and the transaction status, so we can manage your subscription and keep records.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and follow up about a LienGuard subscription;
  • Provide, operate, and maintain the LienGuard service and your account;
  • Configure, price, and set up the plan you select;
  • Process payments and manage billing once Stripe checkout is live;
  • Communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support;
  • Understand and improve how the website and product are used, through analytics; and
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising to you on other companies’ websites.

4. Who we share information with

We share information with the service providers (“sub-processors”) below, only as needed to run the site, respond to you, and operate LienGuard. We do not sell your personal information.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process; to protect the rights, safety, or property of JurisDeed, our users, or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy.

5. Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies, primarily through PostHog, to understand how visitors use the site. PostHog may set cookies or use local storage to recognize a browser across pages, record usage and session data (which may include a recording or reconstruction of on-page activity), and help us improve the product. We do not use these technologies for third-party advertising.

How to opt out

  • You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. Some site features may not work as intended without them.
  • Most browsers offer a “Do Not Track” or global privacy control signal; where required, we will honor recognized opt-out signals.
  • To request that we disable analytics tracking for you, or to ask us to delete analytics data associated with you, email stephen@jurisdeed.com.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy — to respond to your inquiry, operate your subscription, meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes — after which we delete or anonymize it.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reliance on established providers (such as Supabase and Stripe) for hosting and payment processing. Our database denies public access by default; submissions are written only through secured server-side functions.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping any account credentials confidential.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to opt out of certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also ask us to stop contacting you.

To make a request, email stephen@jurisdeed.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

9. Children’s privacy

LienGuard and this website are intended for businesses and professionals. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take additional steps where required by law. Your continued use of the site or LienGuard after an update means you accept the revised policy.
